Utah DOT Crash Data
Lindon's Most Dangerous Roads
More of Lindon's reported crashes happened on I-15 and its ramps than on all of the city's streets put together: 1,720 of 3,261 from January 1, 2018 through August 4, 2025, the highest freeway share of the 57 Utah cities in this data. On the streets, motorcyclists were involved in 14 of the 34 crashes that killed someone or caused a suspected serious injury.
Each crash in UDOT's public records that fell inside Lindon's limits was assigned to a road: the street the officer named when it was nearby, or else the closest street on the state's road map. Interstate lanes and ramps are reported separately, as are private lots and the crashes no road could be matched to. Serious or fatal covers deaths and suspected serious injuries.
Of the 3,261 crashes, 1,448 were on the streets ranked below, 32 in private lots and 61 on no matched road. The street crashes include 34 that were serious or fatal (2.3%, against 2.6% on non-freeway roads across the seven counties covered: Salt Lake, Utah, Davis, Weber, Summit, Cache and Washington) and 2 fatal crashes that killed 2 people.
More Crashes on I-15 Than on Every Lindon Street Combined
Freeway lanes and ramps account for 52.7% of all crashes recorded in Lindon, against 21.4% across the seven counties. I-15 alone had 1,713 crashes, 34 of them serious or fatal and 3 deaths, so the interstate produced as many serious crashes as the city's streets did.
Per crash, though, I-15 was a little less severe: 2.0% of its crashes were serious or fatal, compared with 2.3% on the streets. The interstate also had more deaths, 3 to the streets' 2, and both street deaths came on the two busiest roads in the ranking below.
Five Lindon Roads Above 50 Crashes
These are the Lindon roads with at least 50 crashes from January 2018 through August 4, 2025, ordered by crash count with interstate lanes and ramps left out. Where two of them cross, a crash is counted once, on the road the report named.
- State Street (US-89) — 421 crashes, 12 serious or fatal, 1 death. Angle crashes made up 180. The 600 North junction recorded 72, 700 North 64 and 400 North 43. UDOT estimates reach about 41,000 vehicles a day.
- Geneva Road (1000 West, SR-114) — 355 crashes, 10 serious or fatal, 1 death. Its 700 North junction had 113 crashes, the highest junction count on any road in this list, and 1600 North had 3 serious ones among 35. A commercial vehicle was involved in 34.
- 700 North (SR-129) — 99 crashes, 3 serious or fatal, no deaths. All 3 serious crashes involved a motorcycle. The busiest junction was 1700 West (23).
- 200 South — 93 crashes, 1 serious, no deaths. Officers flagged speed in 15 of them (16.1%); the Geneva Road junction had 9.
- Pleasant Grove Boulevard (SR-135) — 61 crashes, 1 serious, no deaths. 36 were rear-end collisions, and only 1 happened at a junction.
The five hold 1,029 of Lindon's 1,448 street crashes (71.1%) and 27 of the 34 serious or fatal ones. State Street and Geneva Road between them account for 776 crashes and both deaths. Below them the counts fall under 100 a road, so single crashes move the order.
Motorcycles in Four of Ten Serious Crashes
A motorcycle was involved in 14 of the 34 serious or fatal street crashes (41.2%), the highest share of the 57 cities and nearly twice the seven-county 21.7%. They appear in only 36 crashes overall, so 38.9% of motorcycle crashes here were serious or fatal. Geneva Road had 4 of them, State Street 3 and 700 North 3.
Angle Crashes and Few Pedestrian Injuries
Angle crashes, where vehicles strike side to front, were 40.5% of Lindon's street crashes, sixth-highest of the 57 cities, and 20 of the 34 serious or fatal ones (58.8%), second-highest. A disregarded signal or sign was flagged in 151 crashes, 6 of them serious.
Pedestrians were in 2 of the serious or fatal crashes, the second-lowest share of the 57. Drivers left the scene in 71 crashes (4.9%, against 8.6% regionally), none of them serious. Only 57 crashes (3.9%) fell on a Sunday, the lowest share of any of the 57 cities, and October had the most crashes of any month across 2018 to 2024 (142).
Inside the I-15 Numbers
The interstate's 1,713 crashes and the 7 on other ramps are kept out of the street ranking because their traffic, design and crash patterns differ. Counts here omit property-damage crashes below Utah's reporting threshold, and a crash where two ranked roads meet appears on only one of them. The yearly count of serious street crashes is small, between none and 7 in each full year, too few to call a trend.
Legal Rules That Apply to a Lindon Crash
Personal injury protection on your own policy pays first, at least $3,000 in medical expenses whoever caused the crash (Utah Code § 31A-22-307). Suing the at-fault driver for pain and other general damages requires an injury past the threshold in § 31A-22-309, such as a fracture, permanent impairment or medical bills over $3,000; the threshold does not limit an uninsured motorist claim, and a hit-and-run vehicle never identified is treated as uninsured (§ 31A-22-305(2)(b)). Utah compares fault, and you recover only if the other parties' combined fault exceeds yours (§ 78B-5-818). Most injury suits must be filed within four years (§ 78B-2-307), while a road-defect claim against a city or UDOT needs written notice within one year (§ 63G-7-402). Damages Lindon Crash Victims Can Pursue
- Out of pocket: ambulance and hospital charges, follow-up care, medication and lost income.

- Long term: care you will still need and any lasting hit to what you can earn, plus vehicle damage.
Behind Lindon's Crash Counts
Data: UDOT Crash_Locations, January 1, 2018 to August 4, 2025, where the public feed ends. Lindon's limits are UGRC's current municipal boundaries, applied to every year. Roads are UGRC's Utah Roads, matched within 35 meters with the road named in the report preferred. Serious or fatal means coded Fatal or Suspected Serious Injury; regional comparisons use non-freeway crashes in the seven counties named above, and city ranks are among the 57 cities with enough crashes to rank. Every city we have ranked this way is listed on our statewide page, Utah’s most dangerous roads.
