Utah DOT Crash Data

North Logan's Most Dangerous Roads

In North Logan, one road holds most of the crash record. Main Street (US-91) had 823 of the city's 1,507 crashes from January 1, 2018 through August 4, 2025, or 54.6%. Only one of the 57 Utah cities in this data has a larger share of its crashes on a single road. Main Street also had 16 of the 26 serious or fatal crashes and the city's only death.

Every crash UDOT recorded inside North Logan city limits was placed on the street where it happened, using the state road map and, when they disagreed, the road the officer named in the report. No crash in the period happened on a freeway or ramp, crashes in private lots are left out of the ranking, and serious or fatal means a reported death or suspected serious injury.

UDOT recorded 1,550 crashes in North Logan. After setting aside 37 on private property and 6 that could not be matched to a street, 1,507 remain. Of those, 26 were serious or fatal (1.7%, against 2.6% on non-freeway roads across the seven counties in this data), and 1 person died.

One Highway, Half the Crashes

Main Street's busiest junction is 2500 North, with 182 crashes and 5 of them serious, the most of any spot on the road. 1800 North follows with 99 crashes (3 serious) and 1600 North with 96 (2). Rear-end crashes were 53.5% of Main Street's total, and UDOT estimates traffic on it reaches about 37,000 vehicles a day.

Logan's main street also carries US-91, and it leads that city's list too, with 2,561 crashes. The two cities' figures are counted separately at the city line; for that city, see Logan's most dangerous roads.

Five North Logan Roads on the List

Only five roads reached 50 crashes. They are listed by crash count; Wolf Pack Way, with 47, was next. A crash where two listed roads meet counts once, on the road the officer named.

  • Main Street (US-91) — 823 crashes, 16 serious or fatal, 1 death. Busiest junctions: 2500 North (182), 1800 North (99) and 1600 North (96).
  • 200 East — 125 crashes, 1 serious. Side-impact crashes were 43.2%; 26 happened at 1600 North and 25 at 1800 North.
  • 1800 North — 92 crashes, 2 serious. Side-impact crashes were 51.1%, the highest share on this list; its busiest junction is 200 East, with 24.
  • 2500 North — 85 crashes, 2 serious. Its busiest junctions are Main Street (24) and Wolf Pack Way (19).
  • 1600 North — 50 crashes, 1 serious. Nearly half, 23, were at its Main Street junction.

The five roads account for 1,175 of North Logan's 1,507 street crashes (78.0%), 22 of the 26 serious or fatal crashes and the one death. The remaining 332 crashes are spread across 62 other streets, none with more than 47. On Main Street itself, distraction was flagged in 95 crashes and a driver who ignored a signal or sign in 61.

Where the Serious Crashes Gather on Main Street

Main Street's five busiest junctions had 455 crashes and 12 of its 16 serious ones. Sorted by serious crashes, no other road comes close: 1800 North, 2500 North and Wolf Pack Way had 2 each. Wolf Pack Way is small, with 47 crashes, but 68.1% of them were side impacts, and both serious ones were at its 2500 North junction.

Side Impacts in the Serious Crashes, Few Impaired Drivers

Side-impact crashes made up 14 of the 26 serious crashes (53.8%), fifth-highest among the 57 cities (35.2% regionally), and rear-end crashes were 39.5% of all crashes, sixth-highest. A teen driver was involved in 29.5% of crashes (23.8% regionally) and in 8 of the serious ones.

Other flags are rare. An impaired driver was flagged in only 6 crashes, 0.4%, the lowest rate of the 57 cities, and aggressive driving was also the lowest. Sundays carried 4.0% of crashes, second-lowest. The calendar tilts toward fall and winter: over 2018 through 2024, August through December averaged 139 crashes a month and January through July 103, with December the busiest month (157).

Every Crash Here Is a Street Crash

No crash in North Logan's records was coded to an interstate or freeway ramp, so every figure on this page comes from city streets and state highways. Serious crashes peaked at 8 in 2021 and were 1 in each of 2023 and 2024; with counts this small, a single crash moves the trend. Property-damage crashes below Utah's reporting threshold are not in the data, and each crash counts on one road only.

North Logan Claims: Coverage, Fault, Deadlines

Your own personal injury protection pays first, at least $3,000 in medical expenses regardless of who caused the crash (Utah Code § 31A-22-307). Claiming pain and other general damages from the at-fault driver requires an injury that meets the § 31A-22-309 threshold, such as a fracture, permanent impairment or medical bills over $3,000; the threshold does not limit an uninsured motorist claim. A driver who flees and is never found is treated as uninsured (§ 31A-22-305(2)(b)). Your share of fault reduces what you recover, and you recover only if the other side's combined fault is greater (§ 78B-5-818). Most injury suits must be filed within four years (§ 78B-2-307), but a claim against a city or the state over a dangerous road needs a written notice of claim within one year (§ 63G-7-402). See our North Logan car accident page, our posts on rear-end collision fault and crashes involving teen drivers, and the guides to proving fault, PIP claims and the deadline to sue.

Paying for What the Crash Cost

  • Medical and wages: hospital and clinic bills, therapy, prescriptions and the time off work your recovery takes.
  • Pain and disruption: physical pain, lost sleep, and school, work or family routines the injury interrupts.
  • What lies ahead: future treatment, any lasting effect on your ability to work, and fixing or replacing your vehicle.

Counting Rules and Sources

Crash records: UDOT Crash_Locations, January 1, 2018 to August 4, 2025, all crash types. Boundary: UGRC's current North Logan city limits, applied to all years. Streets: UGRC Utah Roads, each crash matched within 35 meters, with the road the officer named taking priority. Serious or fatal: Fatal or Suspected Serious Injury. Traffic estimates are UDOT figures on state routes. Regional comparisons use non-freeway crashes in Salt Lake, Utah, Davis, Weber, Summit, Cache and Washington counties; monthly figures use the complete years 2018 through 2024. Every city we have ranked this way is listed on our statewide page, Utah’s most dangerous roads.
