Clearfield sits between I-15 and the west side of Hill Air Force Base, with the Freeport Center industrial district on its southwest side. Main Street (SR-126) runs through town, SR-193 passes the base’s south entrance on its way from the West Davis Corridor to US-89, and 650 North (SR-103) links Main Street to I-15 and the Falcon Hill research park just outside the base fence. Agencies that respond in Clearfield
Clearfield Police investigate crashes inside city limits, the Utah Highway Patrol handles I-15, and federal law enforcement handles incidents on Hill Air Force Base. A crash on the base, or with an on-duty federal employee, may be governed by the Federal Tort Claims Act; a claim against UDOT, UTA, Davis County or Clearfield City requires a notice of claim within one year (§ 63G-7-402).
